The co-dependent subconsciously requires others to stay sick,
So they can hold their title as chief rescuer.
The co-dependent feels warmer as the depended upon grows cold.
After working with the homeless population, I wrote this article;
A Hand up, Not a Hand Out
How often has my reader seen someone holding up a sign proclaiming; Im Not Going to Lie, I Just Need a Beer? If a mans first priority is to seek safety and comfort for others, only then will he find safety and comfort for himself.
However, I now realize handing most homeless people money is foolish. It has been my observation that many are homeless by their own choice, while others do have serious mental disorders that render them incapable of managing their lives, or their finances without assistance.
If someone asks for help to overcome adversities, they must be willing to go to any length for their recovery. If they are not willing then do not waste your time on them until they truly become willing!
If they require medication they must be willing to allow a care-provider to help them monitor it. If they have an alcohol or other drug problem, do not hand them money!
Because valid shelters will not allow clients to have their best friend in the house, I have witnessed many people continue sleeping in freezing cold weather. I have heard many claim all they need is a break, however, when that break was granted them, many continued to use alcohol or other drugs.
Knowledge of our Creator leads us to accountability, which aids in proper social skills. This education should be the second priority after shelter. If ones economy requires our economy, we have the responsibility to hold these accountable to know why. Investigate and only support missions who have safeguards and voluntary biblical education in place.
If a man is unwilling to work at something productive, he should not be allowed to eat! For many years I got up at five oclock on Saturday mornings to cook breakfast for the needy in my neighborhood. Then later I would drive by the shopping centers and observe uneducated people handing my loved ones money.
I asked myself, Dont they realize the vast majority of these folks are using the money to purchase mind altering substances? I burned out! Not from working in the helping services, but rather, from watching uneducated people enabling others to destroy their lives. I worked hard to fill the buckets of these, only to watch those kick holes.
If my reader suspects that your brother has an acute fetish for young girls, do not invite him to a high school football game. If you suspect that your brother has an addiction to alcohol, do not invite him to a church service where Christian bar tenders are serving fermented grape juice for communion. I discovered this is the same place in which many alcoholics were allowed their first drink!
Wounded spirits must first begin to recover from alcohol and other drugs then God can start the process of helping them recover from the wounds inflected by this world. When this person has awakened from their drug induced fog, the world has grown older; however, most have remained the same person emotionally as when the fog first rolled in.
Because, many of these wounded spirits have been deprived of moral guidance, or refused the hypocrisy demonstrated by others, they are now self-deceived. This spiritual psychosis of co-dependency has kept them so intoxicated that denial told them that they are not the problem. We must now be patient with these, as these will require much time to develop. Yes Cain, we are our brothers keeper, but not his judge.
Man has been using intoxicants from the beginning of this earth age. Intoxicants have been a part of his rituals to aid him to socialize, or improve his conscience contact with his Creator. However, what he feels arent better social skills, nor an improved contact with his Creator, but rather, what he realizes is a conscience contact with the sorcerer!
I once enrolled in a pharmacology course. It was very interesting to see how excessive alcohol and other drugs damage the human body. However, I came away with a biblical perspective of drug effects; When we dance with the Devil, he whispers lies in our ears. Therefore, Satan is all about self-preservation however its side effects are self-destruction.
Just because pharmaceutical companies have a synthetic drug for every occasion does not mean they are all safe. Again, pharmaceutical companies make big money making our children pharmaceutical addicts.
Just as big tobacco companies have been lacing tobacco with chemicals that are more addictive than heroin, many even over the counter common cold remedies have been shown to have addictive properties as well or they simply work on symptoms rather than being directed to the cause of the ailment.
Case in point, a fever is the bodys way of fighting off disease, just as a nose that runs is trying to remove infection from within. When we treat these symptoms rather than giving the body proper nutrition to help the body fight infections, the immune system is then hampered in its effort, thus causing longer recovery. Therefore, read the list of ingredients on any drug container before you decide to give it to yourself or a child. Ask your doctor for any known natural alternatives before taking what is normally prescribed.
Synthetic drug manufactures fear an America that begins using the same remedies that the American Indian used. They fear the use of the natural herbs that have been used in China sense the beginning of time, as we know time. Their greed is simply causing them to make pharmaceutical addicts out of our children just like the dealer on the street corner!
All children require nurturing to feel secure. However, lack of nurture or acute nurturing seems to cause some children to become hypochondriacs. If a child grows up with an acute drug dispenser for a parent they will often grow up with the misconception they will require a chemical each time life does not make them feel good.
Everyone is looking for the silver bullet to weight control. And try as they will, there is not one, nor is there ever going to be one. Period! Exercise, healthy diet, and the power granted by the power granted by positive thinking is the only silver bullet. And even then the enemy slowly creeps back in a little here, a little there, and before we know it, we are trapped again!
I am not a P.H.D., however, I do know to use any unnatural compound only as a last resort! There is a fine line. Find it! Because given certain personalities, some children have a propensity towards addiction. Therefore, be careful!
Give children and other simpletons a healthy diet, exercise, and protection from this worlds misplaced ideals. But most of all love and security, with a little local raw honey each morning will help build up immune systems.
We are all addicts in one form or another; therefore, we do not need co-dependent, chief enablers to feed our psychosis. We were all left with an empty void when we allowed Satan to rob us of direct contact with our Creator. Now we addicts must either fill our empty voids with useful knowledge of our Redeemer to get us through each day, or we continue living in the darkness of our adverse addictions, that always cause us more uncertainty!
Before the fall of mankind there was only one intoxicating tree, given as a symbolic jester to represent the fallen mindset. Roses did not even have thorns. Then heroin poppies and poison oak popped up, and marijuana became a toxic hallucinogenic that causes further psychosis.
Mind altering substances do give relief from unwanted physical and emotional discomforts. Chemical medications do alleviate acute emotional dysfunctions that aid disorganized minds to behave in a rational manner. However, clinicians must use unnatural substance very carefully, or they will cause some of their patients an even greater harm. And dont be fooled, caffeine and nicotine are mild forms of intoxication, as well as are refined sugar products.
I once added up the total sum of money I borrowed from my mother over a ten year period. It was within a few dollars of what I had spent on my marijuana addiction over that same period. It took me ten more years to repay her! She had not realized that she needed me to stay dependent on her.
Therefore, a handout is not a hand up for Gods children. If you believe that you may be a, Cody who feels responsible for your adult/childs poor decisions, or anyone elses than hear this; you are not responsible unless you choose to be! If you are enabling others poor behavior, you have the wrong number! Find another way to entertain yourself. Dont keep others sick for your sake. Hang up the phone and try your call again!
Life on this planet is only a test, and class is almost out. God states those who can be trusted to properly care for others today will counsel angels tomorrow. Therefore, be an angel today and just say, No, you got yourself into this mess, drop to your knees and ask your Creator for help. This is the greatest gift anyone can receive!
Co-dependency is an abuse of power.
