Group Thinking and Committees VS Individual Creative Genius Problem Solvers
Interestingly enough many folks believe that many minds are better than one. In fact, it is a proverb in many societies. Most everyone believes that 2 minds are better than one, of course that depends on who owns them. If you consider the ludicrous nature of this entire theory you can readily see it does not hold water. If you have a tough time envisioning this, think of actual observation.
The average person has an IQ of 100 by definition the IQ average is set that way. So, if the average person can only think at a low level, yet everyone has an equal vote then of course there are already issues and we can see this by observing who the populous votes for and why. Paris Hilton for President!
So which turns our better results in critical thinking more consistently: Groups of Thinkers and Committees or Individual Creative Genius Problem Solvers. Most people believe that many minds are better than one. You know actually there have been some studies that show the exact opposite.
What experiences do you have with a group of people solving a problem, faster than a single individual with multiple skill sets? Did they do this in a shorter amount of time without too many compromises making the entire project less than the intended results?
Sometimes many of the reasons for slow moving committees, governments and NGOs in solving problems is that the human politics and compromises kill the best possible answer and then the law of unintended consequences comes in and then the committee has a never ending reason for job security. What are your thoughts in the true reality of problem solving in groups? Think on this.
