How To Plan A Powerful And Productive Newsletter
Newsletters are widely recognized as the most effective way to keep in touch with a large group of people on a regular basis. Although newsletters are used by a range of people for a variety of purposes, planning is essential if the newsletter is to be successful.

3. Determine your budget. Do you intend to print your newsletter and distribute it through the regular postal system? Will your newsletter be primarily electronically based and promoted on the Internet through a subscriber list? Budget limitations greatly impact your choice of publication distribution.
4. Capturing readers attention. What kind of flavour will your newsletter take? Will it be an informal presentation or conservative and structured? The image is pivotal in determining whether the content will be received by its readers. First impressions are important. A creatively presented newsletter is more likely to grab readers attention.
5. Select relevant content. Are you responsible for sourcing and writing the content for your newsletter? It is a time consuming process coming up with original material every issue!
6. Maintain consistency of content. What are the regular features that youll be including in your newsletter?
7. Determine the time frame of distribution. How regularly will your newsletter be distributed? If your newsletter is printed, how long will the production stage be? Subscribers need to know whether issues will be delivered, for example, monthly, bi-monthly or six monthly, in order to plan their own operations. The frequency of delivery is very important, especially if your newsletter is primarily electronically based. Subscribers of e-mail newsletters can easily forget which newsletters they have signed up for if there are lengthy delays between issues.
