Knowledge for the Sake of Knowledge - What about Compassion, Creativity and Pleasure?
There are many people in the world who are called information junkies and they go thru tons of information, everyday. To what avail, many psychologists say? They ask such things as:
\"What about compassion, creativity, pleasure?\"
Well, as a gatherer of information, I say to them: Hey? You are talking to a Compassionate, Sensual, Creative individual, who just has a hobby in his retirement of gathering knowledge and using it to solve problems. Collecting knowledge for the sake of collecting is like a Female Nester who will not stop shopping for endless junk or a compulsive disorder of a hoarder. That would not be me. I only want information that I can use to help make decisions, discoveries, inventions, innovations or to WIN (solve a problem) - because I like to win and yes winning pleases me.
You see even with the;
- Compassionate,
- Sensual,
- Creative
That needs balance and for me personally, I am VERY competitive, enjoy the pain after a long hard work out and the struggle to accomplish. [What it Takes to Be Number One - Vince Lombardi speech]. And sometimes I like to be systematic in attacking a problem - thus the other side of the creative mind. I think that is balance. You see, I accept any challenge or problem.
Can you think of one that is pressing? What would you like to fix in the World? What challenges are you interested in solving? I have a list and compassion for those who are in need and use creativity, information flow to win and derive pleasure. Seems like a winning combo to me?
Now mind you if the world was perfect humans might mess it up the next day and they create fake problems to propel their own sound and fury. It is a funny species, you have to admit it. Most of the problems they create for themselves you know. So there is nothing wrong with the information junkies; I am okay, you are okay. You see?
